P. BÜHLER – Repenser l’événement – sous un angle théologique

Conçu comme un essai, le présent article se donne pour tâche de relire les débats qui ont animé la réflexion sur la catégorie d’événement dans l’histoire récente de la théologie, notamment protestante. Il tente d’en dégager des perspectives pour une reprise actuelle de la catégorie. À partir des travaux herméneutiques d’Ebeling et de Ricœur, il s’inspire de la notion d’événement de parole pour libérer l’événement d’une pure et simple ponctualité, qu’on lui a toujours reprochée, et y découvrir une dimension de procès, susceptible d’être explicitée par la pragmatique de la communication.

P. BÜHLER – Rethinking the event – from a theological point of view

Conceived as an essay, the present article aims at reviewing the debates which inspired so much thinking about the category of “event” in the recent history of theology, namely in Protestantism, and attempts to examine the perspectives for taking this category up again. Proceeding from the hermeneutical work of Ebeling and Ricœur, the article takes inspiration from the notion of speech event in order to free the event from the pure and simple “one-timeness” for which it has always been reproached, and thus to bring out its process dimension that can then be explicited by communication pragmatics.
